Vehicle Registrations For model years and newer, the vehicle registration is based on the manufacturer's suggested retail or base price ad valorem.

Vehicle Registration Renewals. Veteran plates, Gold Star plates, fundraising plates university and special cause , and special organization plates are exempt. This is also known as the base price. It is then reduced by a percentage of that registration fee for the following three years. Under the present law, no further reduction is provided.
